Academic Records

The online form is designed for only one academic degree, preferably the candidate's highest. An online form covering all potential cases with multiple degrees would require a too complicated form. The evaluation will still be based on all academic achievements and candidates are requested to submit records for all their academic degrees.

There is a multitude of degrees offered by different universities. In the context of this application a degree is characterised by:

  1. Type of degree (e.g., Engineer, BSc, MSc),
  2. Major Subject/Title of degree (e.g., Civil engineering, Architecture),
  3. Date when degree was granted,
  4. Name of granting university.

Each degree should be documented with two records:

  1. A degree certificate. This is commonly a very formal 1- or 2-page document, signed by a dean, rector, etc., and sealed with an official stamp. It typically mentions the name of the degree holder, the name of the institution (university, faculty, etc.), the title of the degree, and the date when the degree was awarded.
  2. A transcript, i.e., an official copy of a student's educational record. This transcript could be several pages and contains detailed information about all courses and theses completed by the student. Each course and thesis is typically specified with a code, academic semester, name, extent, and grade.

Recommendation letters or other documents should NOT be submitted. Universities sometimes have services to translate degree certificates and transcripts of records to English. A candidate may submit translated instead of original-language records but translations are not required.

Originals or certified paper copies of the academic records in the original language is sufficient. CSUCA will accept originals and certified paper copies of academic records and documented proficiency in English, between 11 January and 31 March 2010.
